Eastern Shore of Virginia Violence Prevention
As defined in Webster's Dictionary, Violence is
an exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse.
Sexual and domestic violence has been increasing on the Eastern
Shore and in Virginia. By raising awareness of this problem, there
are hopes of a decline in violence against men, women, and children.
This web page offers links to the statistics on the Shore and in
Virginia. Tips for prevention, and resources for help, are also
provided if you or someone you know is in an abusive situation or
has been a victim of assault in any way.
We hope that this information will help individuals better understand
violence, and encourage people to reach out and help reduce the
problem in any way they can.
This site is funded by a grant through the Virginia Department of Health Center for Injury and Violence Prevention. For more information, and to learn more about why men should care about sexual violence, visit www.MenEndingViolence.com.
