Barrier Islands Center
The mission of The Eastern Shore Of Virginia Barrier Islands Center is to preserve the culture and history of the Virginia Barrier Islands through education, protection and collection of artifacts, and interpretation of this coastal way of life.
Cape Charles Museum and Welcome Center
The Cape Charles Museum and Welcome Center is dedicated to preserving and presenting to the public the history of Cape Charles and surrounding areas -- its railroad, steamers and ferries, houses, schools, and commerce. Located in an old power plant, the museum still houses the original diesel engine and generator, which runs in demo mode. The Museum is located on Rt 184 in Cape Charles and is open Monday - Friday 10 - 2; Saturday 10 - 5; Sunday 1 - 5. Closed in winter. Admission is free. Call 757-331-1008 for more information.

Kerr Place Museum
Kerr Place is an historic house museum and one of the finest examples of Federal architecture in the region. Guided tours of this fine home and its restored spaces highlight its role in regional and United States architectural and social history. There is a fine Museum Gift Shop and the facility serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society. Check-out their online calendar for activities sponsored by the Museum.
Kerr Place Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Oyster & Maritime Museum
Founded in 1965 by a group of island women, the museum opened in 1972 and was recently expanded in 1996. The museum tells the story of island history and of the oystering and seafood business which was the major industry of the island.
